Schools across the Kingdom have been closed since mid-March due to COVID-19. Although lessons are being broadcast on national television, increased pressure is put on caregivers to provide extra support at home.

Mercy Corps-trained assistant teachers have quickly adapted, providing remote support to children with disabilities—and those who care for them—to make sure they don’t fall behind.

Mercy Corps’ inclusive education program, funded by UNICEF and the European Union, have been supporting children with disabilities since 2008, providing personalized educational support, resources and tools as well as rehabilitation services such as physical, occupational and speech therapy.  While our commitment has not wavered, our support certainly looks a bit different now.

Watch this video to see how our assistant teachers are going the extra mile to support the children who need it most.
